The Customs (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2023 [P.U. (A) 305， gazetted on 10/10/2023], amendments to the existing Customs Regulations 2019 are introduced.
These amendments primarily involve modifications to Pulau Pinang's customs ports and alterations to the description of goods and legal landing places. The effective date for these regulations is 11 October 2023. The specific changes made to the customs ports for Pulau Pinang in the Customs (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2023 are as follows:
Concerning the customs port for Georgetown in Pulau Pinang:
Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal wharf's coordinates have been updated to latitude 5° 25’ 08.95296” N and longitude 100° 20’ 47.40350” E.
A new paragraph has been added to include the Pangkalan Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal with coordinates at latitude 5° 25’ 08.31675” N and longitude 100° 21’ 37.87337” E.
Dolphin Pier operated by the Penang Port Commission has been updated with new coordinates at latitude 5° 22’ 55.72804” N and longitude 100° 22’ 00.42423” E.
A new paragraph has been added to include the Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal with coordinates at latitude 5° 23’ 41.31003” N and longitude 100° 21’ 49.29797” E.
For the customs port of Prai in Pulau Pinang:
The Prai wharf operated by the Penang Port Commission is listed with coordinates at latitude 5° 23’ 01.45736” N and longitude 100° 22’ 16.90828” E.
The Prai Bulk Cargo Terminal wharf operated by the Penang Port Commission is listed with coordinates at latitude 5° 22’ 03.55841” N and longitude 100° 21’ 53.45661” E.
Additionally, in Part II of the Second Schedule, Pulau Pinang's location and its particulars have been deleted.
